kitchen nook light update

One of my favorite places in our home is the built-in kitchen banquette we affectionately refer to as “the nook”. Our kitchen is south-facing and gets the most amazing morning light. There are few things better than sipping on a latte in our nook on a weekend morning, catching up on magazines. It’s all about the simple things, right?

It’s kindddd of a neat fixture when lit, but it really doesn’t support the style of the house. Once we determined the kitchen makeover would be classic with some very slight rustic touches, I knew the lighting fixture should feel rustic and almost vintage-looking.

Ultimately, we landed on the vintage barn pendant from restoration hardware (in d/c slate gray). We’d been waiting for a rainy weekend to get some handywork done around the house, and finally got it up!
