our african safari
These are all pictures that I took on our trip, using a canon EOS rebel t2i (which I absolutely love). I love capturing moments, and all of these shots speak to the personalities of these animals.
It feels like an understatement to say this was the trip of a lifetime.. When we were planning the trip, we debated between South Africa and Tanzania. Ultimately we picked Tanzania because we wanted to experience the Serengeti and all of the wildlife in its natural habitat. It was the perfect choice for our family. The ecosystem has been so well preserved, it's heart-warming. I was surprised by how safe we felt around the animals in open vehicles - but Tanzania has set strict rules against people feeding the animals so they don't associate the vehicles or us with food. And as a result, we were able to sit and observe prides of lions 3 feet away (in an open vehicle!).
It's impossible to put into words how amazing the trip was - how it feels to be a part of such a unique ecosystem that is fairly untouched by humans. So instead of trying to write it all down, here are a few of my favorite photos..
Pictures are definitely worth a thousand words & these all warm my heart. These were all taken in ngorongoro crater, central serengeti, northern serengeti, and selous.
Beyond the amazing landscape & wildlife, Tanzania also has a unique design style that reflects the beautiful scenery. The lines are clean, the materials are natural, and the feeling is warm & inviting.
These are just a few pictures of the places we stayed at. Clean lines, but warm and inviting like it's been lived in..
If you ever have a chance to visit Africa, I highly suggest the company we worked with - Bushtracks. They work with a company in Tanzania called Nomad. The guides were absolutely phenomenal (I attribute all that we saw and learned to them) and the accommodations were amazing.
