One of my guilty pleasures is being a tourist in my own city. I love the culture that San Francisco has to offer, and a favorite weekend activity of mine is heading to one of the many museums we have and check out what’s new.
This year I was extremely excited to visit the newly reopened SFMOMA. It had been closed for a few years undergoing an impressive expansion. I visited opening weekend, overwhelmed with the 170k square feet and knowing I would need to go back to see it all.
The SFMOMA has many impressive piece in their collection, including Diego Rivera, Matisse, Picasso, Andy Warhol, and Dali. They also have many seasonal exhibitions and events, giving one even more reason to keep coming back every few months (at least!) to see what’s new.
After your visit, head across the street to my favorite spot for tea and snacks, the Samovar Tea Lounge. Enjoy views of the city and reflect on all the awesome artwork you just saw!
