Aren't these figs so pretty? We're loving these so much, we decided to make a cocktail with them.
Fig season is far too short. We're still holding on to the last little bit of fresh figs from the grocery store. And of course, what better way to celebrate sunday funday then to get figgy with it.
And the best part is that you can make this even when it's not fig season! We supplemented the fresh figs with a fig butter. So if you are craving a fig cocktail in middle of winter, add an additional teaspoon of fig butter and you'll get the same flavor (it just won't be quite as pretty as it is with these beautiful fig garnishes!).
This fig cocktail is so refreshing and perfect for fall!
Here's the recipe:
makes 1 cocktail
- 2 shots vodka
- 3 tsp fig butter (we bought ours from trader joe's)
- 2 figs, halved (if not in season, add another tsp of fig butter)
- soda water
Muddle 2 fig halves in the bottom of a glass with vodka & two shots of soda water. Add all the muddled mix and fig butter into shaker with ice & shake. Strain into a glass & top off with soda water. Stir.
Garnish with the halved figs & enjoy! Or should we say get figgy with it ;)
